Art by Elisabeth AlbaFor Month of Love - fetish challenge (check it out for art from lots of great illustrators!)ink and watercolorI recently learned about Melissophilia, an arousal toward bees/wasps/hornets/etc. Melissa comes from the Greek name for ‘honey bee.’ There’s all kinds of interesting things that can be read about bees in mythology here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melissa. Anyway somehow I decided I wanted to draw a girl with bees and it turned into this!

Interview!

Fellow illustrator Kiri Ƙstergaard Leonard interviewed me for her new blog post series of interviews with women in fantasy art. Read it at http://kirileonard.com/interview-elisabeth-alba! In it, I answer lots of questions about how I got started, why I went to grad school, and lots more.

And when you’re done reading it.. check out Kiri’s lovely work!
